Following the much-hyped arrival of Oppo’s latest selfie-focused flagship, the sleek and stylish OPPO F5 finally arrived in the Philippines on Thursday (October 26) in a star-studded event in City of Dreams, Pasay City.

Sporting a 6-inch display, Oppo F5 is not entirely different from the current crop of releases featuring an all-screen front and with almost absent bezel around the display.

It also features a Face Unlock technology for security, as well as Fingerprint Scanner.

The other major feature of the Oppo F3 successor that the Chinese smartphone maker is marketing heavily is its AI-enabled beauty technology integrated in the front camera. Oppo claimed its F5’s front camera can recognize if there is a background light or if it needs to add luminance to portraits for improved selfies. The Oppo F5 front camera is capable of clicking shots with a Bokeh effect.

Still around? Let’s continue what Oppo F5’s front camera offers the competition. It has a 20-megapixel sensor, accompanied with f/2.0 aperture lens. The back sports a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. It has a 6-inch TFT display with full-HD+ screen resolution of 1080×2160 pixels.

Oppo F5 supports dual Nano-SIM cards and boasts that it has a separate microSD card slot. Powered by anocta-core MediaTek (MT6763T) processor, the Oppo F5 comes with 4GB/6GB RAM. The handset supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB).

The mobile phone runs on Oppo’s ColorOS 3.2 based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

The Oppo F5 measures 156.5×76.5mm and weighs in at 152 grams.

All these features and specs are backed by a 3200mAh battery.

Connectivity options include GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and USB OTG support.

The Chinese phone maker, one of the big four in China alongside Huawei, Xiaomi and Vivo, announced that the Oppo F5 is now up for pre-ordering starting October 27, and will be available with two RAM and storage variants.

The 4GB RAM and 32GB storage Oppo F5 will cost P15,990 and comes in Gold and Black colours.

The other 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant are in Red colour but no pricing has been announced yet.

Oppo announced that those who will pre-order will receive a free OLike speaker worth Php2,990.

The new handset will also be available under Smart Postpaid Plan 599 for 24 months starting this November and under Globe pans starting December.

Oppo F5 will only be made available nationwide on November 4.
